IT'S READY - TMK Grapple Saw 2025
The newest addition to the TMK Family lineup - TMK Grapple Saw.
Since first revealing the prototype in 2024, we’ve done extensive testing for the last year and now it is finally ready for the public to enjoy.

Soooo… What did we come up with?
The aim of the design team was to make an affordable and small grapple saw, that can still cut larger trees. What we came up with is a compact, efficient and diverse excavator attachment that features 3 different cutting motions (saw, hydraulically controlled tree shear blade, splitting blade), dual grapple arms, optional 360 Rotator and a whopping 650mm cutting capacity (10 cm more than originally planned!). And as always with TMK products, everything is controllable with just 1 DA-line, (with a little twist as the grapple saw requires also the drain line to ensure reliable operation).
Sounds too good to be true? Keep reading.
The product weighs only 850kg and is designed for machines in the range of 13-25 tonnes. Like all TMK products, it is mostly made of Hardox and the options can be customized to fit your work needs.

Saw unit:
The TMK Grapple Saw uses a quality Swedish JPS saw unit, which features a 800mm saw bar with a .404” chain. A separate ¾”chain is also available as an option. The saw bar has an automatic lubrication system and works half-automatically together with the grapple arms. The unit also features a semi-automatic chain tightening system, to make working fast and efficient. In addition to the GS also having a support heel for maneuvering the excavator, the saw unit box itself is also very sturdy.

Hydraulically controlled tree shear blade:
In addition to the saw bar, the TMK GS also features a Hydraulic moving cutting blade designed for cutting smaller branches and bushes. This was originally planned to be an attachable blade on the first test units, but we’ve since upgraded it into a hydraulically powered cutting blade!

Splitting blade:
The third cutting blade is the familiar splitting blade already known from our Tree Shear attachments. Normally safely stored away at the side of the saw unit, the splitting blade is easily put to work in splitting logs and even firewood if needed.

Grapple Arms:
The dual grapple arms open to a maximum width of 1190mm for easy material handling.
The arms can also be electronically locked in place for trickier sawing motions.

The technical stuff:
As stated earlier, everything in the unit can be controlled with just one double-acting hydraulic line and the tank return line. The unit itself is very simple & care-free, as it features just one adjustment valve. This is for adjusting the guide bar speed. The GS has altogether 5 different electric valve motions that can all be controlled with a wireless unit. Alternatively the Rotator can be controlled from its own external DA-line. The saw-side of the unit has a tank for the lubrication system and there’s a red LED-light to indicate when the saw chain tightening is on. As you can see - everything has been thought about.

So who is it for and why?
The original product idea was problem tree removal but it has also since developed to encompass a larger market area. The TMK Grapple Saw is suitable for any contracting work where a large cutting capacity is required and there is no need for cutting-to-length precision. Thanks to its diversity and small size, the TMK GS is suitable for a large variety of forestry work, ranging from problem tree removals to forestry thinnings and clear cuts. On a smaller scale, the GS can be used almost like a Tree Shear thanks to the hydraulic blade while still having the option to cut larger trees thanks to the saw unit. The dual grapple arms with their large opening make handling large amounts of smaller trees - or individual larger ones - a breeze.
