Introducing TMK Hold & Cut

TMK Hold & Cut

We are announcing our first Hold & Cut Tree Shear.

We recognize that there are jobs and worksites that just won’t allow the use of a normal Tree Shear and so now we are responding to that need. The H&C provides a safe way to cut branches & trees even in urban or otherwise problematic areas such as roadsides.

Design & construction

TMK Hold & Cut features strong dual grapples that hold the trees very sturdily in place as well as a moving blade that has the capacity to cut up to 400 mm trees. The blade is driven with a linkage designed to optimize the cutting motion helped by a powerful hydraulic cylinder.

The grapple’s geometry has been optimized for material handling and as it has a huge max. opening of 1124 mm (44,25’’), it can really pick up and move a lot of stuff at one go.

As a trademark of TMK we have made the Hold & Cut shear very compact and durable, the frame is made out of Hardox 400 steel and the blade from Hardox 500 steel. We chose Hardox steels as they are very proven in the machinery world for their strength and ability to slightly bend under load, without permanently deforming.

The compact structure allows the blade unit to be very low making it possible to cut from the root of the tree with ease while providing tremendous cutting force.

It features the very familiar bolt-on adapter plates from our Tree Shears for easy adaptability even when using multiple different machines.

If your machine doesn’t have a tiltrotator or a tilt it is possible to equip the Hold & Cut with a Rotator which makes it easier to use the cut branches or angled trees.

TMK Hold & Cut in a nutshell

Clean, efficient & safe.
Thanks to the way the TMK Hold & Cut is operated, it brings a new type of diverse tool into the forestry industry. Because of how the cutting is done, the H&C can be operated safely in different urban areas, such as cities, parks, roadsides & railways. Compared to a tree shear or a grapple saw the H&C keeps the tree in place while cutting as well as cutting without any saw dust. All this is done while still bringing power & speed to the forestry work!
